Let your thoughts run wild!

Imagination can sometimes be thought of as a negative thing in Christian circles. "Don't let your thoughts wander", "Don't let your imagination get the better of you" are phases that could be banded around, imaginations can be thought of as temptations, and that is something to be careful of for sure:

We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NLT.

But it is wrong not to use our imaginations; that is not what God wants for us, God created our minds for us to imagine! God wants us to expand our thoughts so that we might better know the awesome power of God.

[I] pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us ... This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honour at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 1:19‭-‬20 NLT

Paul (the bloke that wrote that) in his letter to an early church in Ephesus (and now us) is telling us to expand our minds so that we can understand more of God. So don't shut your mind off, open it, let your thoughts grow, let God use your imagination to give you vision, ambition, purpose. God wants to use us for his work, but how can we do GREAT work if our imaginations can only think of less-than great things.
